Journal of Economic Studies

    The Journal of Economic Studies is a (International - scientific – Refereed) publication that is issued biannually (June and December) by the Saudi Economic Association (SEA), at King Saud University. The Journal is concerned with publishing research and scientific reviews that have not been previously published covering topics and issues in order to make significant advancements on the basis of solid scientific research. The first issue of the Journal was published in 1998 AD/ 1419 AH.

Vision::

To become a distinguished leading journal in publishing peer-reviewed economic research, in both Arabic and English.

Mission:

Publishing solid scientific research in economics that are known for its originality and novelty, in accordance with international publishing standards.

Objectives:

1. Offering a distinct publishing platform that encourages researchers to carry out high-quality research in economics.

2. Creating a scientific reference specialized in economics, to serve the interests of all.

3. Contributing to economic progress by publishing research that links theory and practice.

4. presenting best experiences and leading practices, including books and research related to various economic topics.

    

Journal’s Research Fields:

The journal provides researchers with the opportunity to publish their publications, in accordance with the following classifications:

1. Research: the work of the researcher within the field of specialization, provided that it contributes an added value to economics.
2. Literature Review: a critical review that summarizes a previously published topic in economics and its branches.
3. Dissertation Abstract: an expanded summary of a dissertation (Master's/PhD) in economics, provided that it has been defended and approved by a recognized university.

4. Book Review: A critical review and summary of books specialized in economics.

    

Open Journal System (OJS)

    The Journal of Economic Studies applies the Open Journal System (OJS), which is an open-source platform for managing and publishing academic journals online. It was developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) to facilitate the management and electronic publication of scientific content.

    OJS provides comprehensive tools for managing the editorial processes, from the start of submission to publication. The system supports peer review processes, ensuring the quality of published research, and allows customization of the journal interface to match the institution's or journal's identity.

     OJS can support open access publishing, making research accessible to everyone without barriers and supports multiple users like; editors, reviewers, and researchers, with specific permissions for each role. OJS offers detailed reports on research downloads and submission processes, which makes this system a powerful and useful tool for managing the Journal of Economic Studies and improving its publishing quality.
